Below are bios on some of our distinguished speakers and panelists for the Canada - United States Healthcare Technology Summit.

Christopher R. Evans
Christopher R. Evans is a proven brand-builder and rainmaker, Christopher brings fifteen years of experience in branding, business development, marketing, and management to his role as Vice President for TrueFit. In addition to providing leadership to the company's sales operations, Christopher focuses on developing strategic alliance partnership relationships, driving new business, and spearheading TrueFit's go-to-market strategy.

Prior to his role at TrueFit, Christopher served as Director of Marketing/Sales for Mind Over Media where he was responsible for new business development strategy and branding. Previously, Christopher served as Director of Global Marketing for iGATE Mastech (AMEX:MHH), a $100M IT consulting firm that regularly ranked among the industry's Top 100 Hot Growth Companies. At Mastech, Christopher led two major brand launches and expansion strategies, including a successful spin-off from former parent iGATE Corporation in 2008. In 2006, Christopher and two other top executives launched RPOworldwide, a start-up recruitment process outsourcing firm which operated under the Mastech corporate banner. RPOworldwide quickly gained solid traction and recognition by industry associations, including "2007 Thought Leader of the Year," "Emerging Market Leader," and having the "2008 Relationship of the Year".

In 2000, Christopher along with three other colleagues drove participation in an $1.5M initial angel investment fundraising round to form Blue Hammock, a technology start-up that grew into leader in the CRM consulting space. Blue Hammock met the needs of blue-chip clients, including Cox Communications, Fujitsu, and Canon, and as part of the company's original business plan, was later sold off via acquisition.

Christopher serves on the Board of Directors of American Marketing Association's Pittsburgh Chapter as Vice President of Membership, as an advisor to BlueTree Allied Angels, and on The Art Institute of Pittsburgh's Advertising Program Advisory Committee. Christopher is a published writer and regular speaker at industry events including recent speaking engagements to undergraduate and graduate business students at Duquesne University, The University of Pittsburgh, and The Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University. Christopher holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Duquesne University.

When he's not busy wooing our clients, Christopher's often found on the ski slopes, humming a Sinatra tune, or smoking a cigar that would make Fidel proud.


Kelly Kimberland
Kelly Kimberland serves as Director, Market Strategy & Social Marketing for UPMC Health Plan, a division of UPMC Health System. She has been instrumental in leading the health plan’s social marketing efforts and establishing the company as the first regional health care insurer to offer social media channels to its members in 2010.  Ms. Kimberland also led a multi-functional team in the launch of the Health Plan’s first mobile application.

Previously, Ms. Kimberland managed public relations for Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute, a $120 million federally funded research and development center. During her tenure, Ms. Kimberland secured national and international news coverage in outlets as the Wall Street Journal, BBC, New York Times, Australian Herald, CNN, and leading technology publications. In role her, Ms. Kimberland managed a team of marketing communications professionals focused on marketing communications, media relations, analyst relations, executive communications, and social media. As a result, her team was recognized with numerous awards including the Bronze Anvil from the national Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).  Ms. Kimberland worked with government and corporate entities, such as the White House Office of Communications, Department of Homeland Security, and General Motors, to promote joint initiatives in the advancement of software engineering & cyber security best practices.

Ms. Kimberland’s professional portfolio also includes expertise in global analyst relations. While at Marconi, plc., she secured favorable rankings with leading technology analyst firms, developed strategic PR campaigns for three Marconi divisions, and partnered with senior product marketing managers to develop and implement product launch campaigns. 
As accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), she has served on PRSA Pittsburgh Chapter board of directors for 10 years. Most recently, she has been asked to serve as the Technology Innovation Task Force Chair for the national PRSA association.

Lee Kim
Lee Kim practices healthcare and health information technology ("HIT") law and assists clients with electronic health record ("EHR") licensing and related service contract issues and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act ("HIPAA") issues, including HIPAA Security Rule policies, compliance, and training. Lee has been providing legal counsel to the Pennsylvania Regional Extension Center East and West (PA REACH East and West), through the Pittsburgh Regional Health Initiative (“PRHI”), to offer certified Electronic Health Record (“EHR") solutions to health care providers enrolled in the Medicare and Medicaid EHR incentive programs.

Her recent publications include “Being in Step with HIPAA Security Rules and Recommended Practices”, Bulletin of the Allegheny County Medical Society, March 2010. Previously, Lee worked in the information technology (“IT”) field for several years, including in the health information technology (“HIT”) field. 

Lee is a member of the Western Pennsylvania Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (“WPHIMSS”) Board of Directors and program committee chair.  Lee is also the Health Law and Policy Coordinating Committee Liaison and Web Liaison for the American Bar Association's eHealth Privacy and Security Special Interest Group.


Michael (Mac) H. McMillan
Mac McMillan is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of CynergisTek, Inc., a firm specializing in the areas of information security and regulatory compliance for healthcare.  He is the current Chair of the HIMSS Privacy & Security Policy Task Force.  Mr. McMillan brings over 30 years of combined intelligence, security countermeasures and consulting experience to his position. He has worked in the Healthcare industry since his retirement from the federal government in 2000 and has contributed regularly to organizations such as HCCA, AHIA, AHIMA, AAHSA, HFMA and HIMSS and contributes regularly to the thought leadership around data security in healthcare.  He served as Director of Security for two separate Defense Agencies, and sat on numerous interagency intelligence and security countermeasures committees.  He is the former Chair, HIMSS Information Systems Security Working Group, and the HIMSS Privacy & Security Committee.  He sits on the HIT Exchange Editorial Advisory Board and the Diebold Healthcare Advisory Board.  He contributes frequently to multiple Healthcare IT magazines, presents regularly at conferences and other events, and a contributing author to the HIMSS book, Information Security in Healthcare: Managing Risk.  Mr. McMillan holds a Master of Arts degree in national security and strategic studies from the U.S. Naval War College and a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Texas A&M University.


Carlyn Moulton
Carlyn Moulton rejoined Salumatics as its Chief Business Development Officer in December 2011. An energetic entrepreneur, she has founded and led the development of a number of organizations in sectors as diverse as television broadcasting, arts and culture, investigative journalism, community foundations, clinical laboratory restructuring, and health care consulting. In 1999, she founded THiiNC Information Management and served as the CEO and member of the Board of Directors until 2002. After THiiNC IMI changed its name to Salumatics, Moulton continued to provide strategic advisory services to the company from time to time.

As a consultant in the health sector, she has participated in large change management initiatives with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, the Mayo Clinic, the Capital Health Authority (Edmonton) and the Alberta Ministry of Health and Wellness. She has served as an advisor to the Romanow Commission on the Future of Health Care in Canada, the Commissioner for the Environment and Sustainable Development, various Canadian provincial Deputy Ministers of Health, and chaired Canada’s National Electronic Claims Standards committee. Formerly, she has provided strategic communications services to the Ottawa Hospital, Canada's Chief Scientist (Health Canada), the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Social Sciences and Research Council of Canada and the RCMP.

  Howard Rosen
Howard Rosen graduated with an MBA (International Finance & Marketing)and spent the past 25 years producing over $100 million of feature films and television programs. It was while working on an interactive DVD on Type II Diabetes that led Howard to his interest in developing/inventing Life:WIRE®, a patent pending technology designed to foster patient engagement pairing interactive mobile technology with content.
 
As a knowledge leader in the mobile health industry, Howard has played a pioneering role in the use of mobile technology and patient engagement. He has spoken at numerous conferences on innovation and patient engagement. Howard has a unique perspective in the area of engagement having previously been a prominent figure in the North American entertainment industry, having played a leadership role in the strategic, development and management aspects of the sector in both the traditional and digital media environments. Through this process, he has established a number of successful ventures and worked with Fortune 500 companies as both clients and partners.
 
Howard was recently selected by the mHealth Alliance (hosted by the UN Foundation) as one of the Top 30 mHealth Innovators in 2011 and LifeWIRE has had the proud distinction of recently being selected as a Computerworld Honors Laureate 2011 for use of technology for the benefit and betterment of society.
 
  Diane Salois-Swallow
Diane Salois-Swallow is the Chief Information Officer for York Central Hospital and Southlake Regional Health Centre/Stevenson Memorial Hospital.  She is responsible for Information and Communications Technology.  Diane's Portfolio also includes York Central's Health Records Department.

Diane is involved in several committees related to e-Health at the National and Provincial levels (Canada Health Infoway CHI Standards Collaborative Strategic Committee, Registered Nurse Association of Ontario (RNAO) Nursing e-Health Advisory Committee, CLHIN e-Health Advisory Committee, COACH e Health Safety Advisory)

Diane has co-authored several publications in the nursing informatics field.  Diane has a R.N. designation, BScN from Universite de Sherbrooke, and obtained her Masters in Education from University of Victoria.

Robert Torres
Robert Torres serves as the State Health Information Technology Coordinator for Pennsylvania.  In this position, he provides leadership to help advance health information technology strategies in Pennsylvania.  He is also responsible for developing relevant policies, promoting collaboration among stakeholders and coordinating health information technology efforts with Medicaid, public health and other federally funded state programs. 

Mr. Torres previously served as Deputy Secretary for Administration at the Pennsylvania Department of Health.  In this role, he was responsible for contract administration, information technology, health research, statistics and vital records, human resources and management of the department’s more than $900 million budget.  He was also assigned to manage and help improve the delivery of health, support and outreach services for family and children funded through the federal Maternal and Child Health (MCH) programs.

Mr. Torres is an attorney who holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Pace University and a law degree from Widener University School of Law.
